Near the end of Homeland’s fifth season, the character of Peter Quinn was poisoned with sarin gas at the hands of a terrorist cell in Berlin. This event was recorded and broadcast to the masses in order to strike fear in the hearts of the city’s residents as the cell prepared to execute a major attack on a subway station.
